Coal India Limited witnessed a 5% rise in its shares after reporting an 11.1% increase in its consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter of 2025-2026.

Shares of PSU major Coal India rose over 3% following a strong March quarter report, with profit after tax climbing 12% year-on-year.

Indian shares rose on Tuesday, extending the previous session's gains, led by a post-results rally in Coal India, although higher crude prices and weakness in banking stocks following the central bank's credit-loss guidelines capped the advance.
