During a visit to Washington for the first meeting of President Donald Trump's Board of Peace, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto secured a significant trade agreement with the United States. The deal involves Indonesia eliminating tariffs on 99% of U.S. goods, while the U.S. will maintain tariffs of 19% on most Indonesian goods—similar to rates imposed on Cambodia and Malaysia. Indonesia also agreed to lift non-tariff barriers and export restrictions on critical minerals and other industrial commodities. Complementing this, both nations struck 11 trade and investment deals worth $38.4 billion, including U.S. exports of agricultural products and joint ventures in critical minerals and computer chips.
