Home heating oil prices in rural Lancashire have doubled, forcing some residents to pay significantly more for essential fuel. The price surge is linked to uncertainty surrounding oil supplies following the US-Israel war with Iran. Some households are now accepting delivery-day prices without prior quotes. An elderly couple reportedly paid £1,000 for a delivery, highlighting the immediate financial strain on vulnerable residents.
