Germany will initiate the privatization of SEFE, formerly Gazprom's German arm, and plans a €1.5–2 billion capital increase to support infrastructure expansion.

The German government will begin the official process of privatizing SEFE, the local unit of Russia’s Gazprom, which was seized in 2022 after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Gazprom announced it had terminated its participation in its Germany-based subsidiary Gazprom Germania and all of its assets, including Gazprom Marketing & Trading.

Germany temporarily took control of a unit of Gazprom in the country as it sought to safeguard security of gas supply, placing Gazprom Germania under trusteeship of the German energy regulator.
