Man dies after bitten by shark in Western Australia, police say

The man was spearfishing off Michaelmas Island with his family, according to local reports.

A 35-year-old man was spearfishing with family off Michaelmas Island near the port city of Albany in Western Australia state when he was attacked before noon local time. Authorities suspect a 15-foot white shark was responsible.

A 38-year-old man has been killed by a shark on Rottnest Island in Western Australia. The fatal attack occurred just before 10am at Horseshoe Reef, north of Marjorie Bay on the western end of the island.
