Beta Technologies is accelerating the development of its Alia MV250 military cargo drone by six months, with the first flight now expected this year. The company has also been selected by the FAA to participate in seven of eight grant programs aimed at integrating electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft into the U.S. aviation network.

Beta Technologies has been awarded a grant by the FAA to expedite the development of its Alia MV250 military cargo drone. The company plans to have the first flight of the drone this year, reflecting an increased focus on military programs.
Beta Technologies is accelerating the development of its Alia MV250 military cargo drone by six months, with the first flight now expected this year. The company has also been selected by the FAA to participate in seven of eight grant programs aimed at integrating electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft into the U.S. aviation network.
BETA Technologies has been selected by the U.S. Department of Transportation and FAA as a launch participant in the eVTOL Integration Pilot Program. The company will operate in at least 10 states across the U.S., conducting flight operations with its ALIA CTOL and VTOL aircraft, as well as ground support operations with its Chargers and Ground Support Equipment.
The U.S. Department of Transportation and FAA have selected eight proposals from state and local governments to begin limited cargo and passenger service with electric aircraft under the eVTOL Integration Pilot Program. Beta Technologies is participating in seven of these programs, including operations in New York and Florida.
