A convoy of tankers, including liquefied petroleum gas carriers and oil product and chemical tankers, was observed departing the Gulf and transiting the Strait of Hormuz, according to vessel-tracking data from MarineTraffic.
Over a dozen tankers, including three sanctioned vessels, passed through the Strait of Hormuz after a 50-day blockade was lifted on Friday, before Iran reimposed restrictions and fired at some vessels on Saturday.
Ship-tracking data shows 279 ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz and 22 have been attacked since the war on Iran began, highlighting the challenges of maritime navigation in the region.
