In their 2026 World Cup Group F opener, Japan salvaged a dramatic 2-2 draw against the Netherlands thanks to Daichi Kamada's 88th-minute header from Koki Ogawa's corner kick.
Daichi Kamada's 89th-minute equaliser saw the points shared in Group F. Virgil van Dijk’s header had earlier been cancelled out by Keito Nakamura’s low shot before Crysencio Summerville looked to have won it.
