Iran demands guarantees for World Cup participation

The Iranian Football Federation (FFIRI) has presented Fifa with 10 conditions for participation at the World Cup in the US, Mexico and Canada.

Following U.S. and Israeli airstrikes that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Iran's sports minister announced the country's withdrawal from the 2026 World Cup, citing safety concerns for its citizens.

Iran has requested FIFA to relocate its World Cup matches from the U.S. to Mexico, awaiting a response to ensure the team's participation in the tournament.
