Novo Nordisk disclosed a cyberattack affecting certain internal IT systems, resulting in unauthorized access to pseudonymized data from some of its clinical trials. The compromised information included patient IDs, health biomarkers, and lifestyle factors, but no personally identifiable information was exposed.

The hacker group Fulcrumsec claimed to have stolen over a terabyte of data from Novo Nordisk, including source code, information on both launched and yet-to-be-launched drugs, research data, and details about employees, doctors, and patients. After Novo Nordisk refused to pay a ransom of approximately 235 million SEK, the group threatened to sell parts of the stolen information.
