After 40 days at sea, the MV Hondius cruise ship arrived at the port of Granadilla de Abona (Tenerife), ending a health crisis caused by a hantavirus outbreak that resulted in three deaths.
A disagreement has erupted between Spain's central government and the Canary Islands regional authorities over the planned docking of the MV Hondius cruise ship, which has experienced a hantavirus outbreak.
The president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, announced that the cruise ship affected by a hantavirus outbreak will not dock in the archipelago but will remain anchored, with passengers evacuated by boat.
