South Korea is nearing an agreement to secure crude oil supplies from Kazakhstan, with specific details expected to be announced early next week, according to Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan.
South Korea is sending a senior government official to Oman, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia in a bid to secure crude oil supply that does not need to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
South Korea is urging Gulf nations to ensure stable oil and LNG supply and protect vessels near the Strait of Hormuz as shipping disruptions escalate.
